The Catholic News Agency reports that the Editor-in-chief Gian Maria Vian of the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano says that Barack Obama “is not a pro-abortion president.”
The Family Research Council has put together compelling information to the contrary both in print and video.
Also the FRC is asking everyone to ACT NOW and contact the National Institutes of Health to express opposition to the use of federal funds for embryonic stem cell research BEFORE May 26th.
But back to L'Osservatore Romano. George Weigel, Distinguished Senior Fellow at Washington's Ethics and Public Policy Center explains in an article on National Review Online that the Vatican newspaper does not speak for the pope. In addition he states, "to assume that the pope and his most senior advisers have drunk the Obama Kool-Aid and wish the American bishops would chill out is, however, another story altogether, and not a very credible one ...."
